Abacus IT boosts Sweden expansion with three acquisitions
Abacus IT has acquired a group of companies consisting of Everyday ERP, Need2Code, and Studio Roscoe. With this transaction, Abacus significantly strengthens its presence in the Swedish market while broadening its expertise across ERP systems, software development, design, and web services.
The acquisition adds three new offices in the Stockholm region and brings 14 new employees into the Abacus organization. Sven R. Nilsen, Group CEO of Abacus, describes the acquisition as a natural step in the company’s Nordic growth strategy and an important milestone in achieving its long-term ambitions.
“Our vision is to become the leading provider of business solutions in the Nordic region within ERP systems, IT operations, and hardware. After establishing ourselves in Sweden in 2025, this acquisition further reinforces our commitment to the Swedish market,” says Nilsen.
A strong strategic fit
The initial contact between Abacus and the founders of the acquired companies took place at a joint supplier event. After several discussions, it quickly became clear that the companies shared aligned working methods, values, and long-term ambitions.
“We quickly recognized a strong mutual fit and identified a clear path forward that benefits all parties,” Nilsen explains.
Need2Code specializes in integrations and has developed proprietary software over time, while Everyday ERP is a well-established ERP partner with strong capabilities in finance, advanced logistics, and production.
The company owners, Anders Elmén and Thomas Albertsson, also saw early on that the businesses were highly complementary—both in terms of expertise and culture—and offered strong growth potential together.
“We identified clear synergies from the beginning. We share the same philosophy on building companies, developing customer relationships, and leveraging modern technology. Exploring opportunities within a larger group felt like a natural next step,” says Elmén.
“For me, timing was key. We were at a crossroads between continuing organic growth or taking the next step on a larger platform with more opportunities. Joining Abacus felt like the right decision,” adds Albertsson.
Expanding expertise and capabilities
Together, the three companies strengthen Abacus’ capabilities in Sweden by providing a broader and more diversified competence base.
“We bring modern technical expertise and a strong focus on future-oriented solutions, including AI-driven products and services,” says Elmén, CEO of Need2Code.
Everyday ERP contributes deep specialist expertise in advanced logistics and production solutions within ERP systems, enabling more comprehensive and integrated customer offerings. In addition, the group brings experience in web development, digital visibility, and marketing through Studio Roscoe.
“This opens up opportunities to reach new markets and customer segments. Our strength lies in combining specialist knowledge with the ability to deliver a cohesive and compelling offering,” says Albertsson.
Looking ahead
The integration of the acquired companies will take place gradually throughout 2026, with all existing offices remaining operational. Nilsen looks forward to continuing to build and strengthen Abacus’ presence in Sweden.
“I am truly excited to get to know our new colleagues and to work together to take our customer solutions to the next level,” he says.
Both Elmén and Albertsson are equally positive about the future as part of Abacus.
“It is inspiring to become part of a company with clear growth momentum, where we can actively contribute to its continued development,” says Albertsson.
“Joining Abacus enables us to reach new markets, expand into new business areas, and operate within a larger, stronger organization. This creates a solid foundation for continued innovation and growth,” Elmén concludes.
